📐 Sizing 5 questions
+
How do I know if I need a 12-yard or 20-yard dumpster?

Both sizes cost the same to book — $200 delivery with 3 days included, then $20 for each extra day and $0.05 a pound for whatever you fill it with. There’s no price penalty for going bigger, so the real question is capacity, not budget.

Choose a 12-yard if your project is:

  • A single-room renovation (one bathroom, one bedroom)
  • A garage or basement cleanout
  • A landscaping or yard debris haul
  • General junk removal from a house

Choose a 20-yard if your project involves:

  • Roofing — shingles add up fast by weight
  • A full kitchen or bathroom renovation
  • Whole-house cleanouts or estate clearing
  • Demo work, flooring, drywall removal
  • Any commercial job site

Not sure? Call or text 480-937-9137 and describe your project. We’ll tell you the right size in under 2 minutes.

+
How much can a 12-yard dumpster actually hold?

About 6 full pickup-truck loads of debris — a typical garage cleanout, a single-room gut and renovation, or roughly 2,000 square feet of flooring removal.

Disposal is billed at $0.05/lb (800 lb minimum) off the certified scale weight — there’s no separate booking or price anymore for concrete, dirt, rock, or shingles. Weight matters as much as volume, especially for heavy materials like tile, brick, or drywall.

Want it simpler? The $400 package covers a 12-yard for 7 days with 2 tons (4,000 lbs) of disposal included.

+
How much can a 20-yard dumpster hold?

About 10–12 full pickup-truck loads — a full kitchen demo, a roofing tear-off on an average-sized home, or a whole-house cleanout. It’s our most-booked size.

Disposal is billed at $0.05/lb (800 lb minimum) — the same rate as every other size and material type.

+
What if I fill it up and still have debris left over?

Call for a swap-out: we pick up your full container, dump it, and bring it back for a flat $100. If you only have a small amount left over, we can discuss options at pickup instead.

Better solution: call us before you book and describe your project in detail. If there’s a realistic chance of overflow, we’ll help you plan for it upfront.

+
Do you offer anything smaller than 12 yards?

Currently we operate 12-yard and 20-yard containers only. If a 12-yard feels like more than you need, consider that renting a 12-yard is typically less expensive and less hassle than multiple junk hauler trips.

If your project is very small (a few bags of junk, a single piece of furniture), a junk removal service may be a better fit than a roll-off rental.

💰 Pricing & Fees 6 questions
+
How does pricing work now?

We moved to simple, pay-for-what-you-use pricing:

  • $200 gets a dumpster delivered and dropped off, with the first 3 days of rental included
  • $20 for each additional rental day
  • $0.05/lb for disposal, based on the certified scale weight (800 lb minimum)
  • $100 for a swap-out

Want the old all-in-one bundle instead? Our $400 package covers a 12-yard dumpster for 7 days with 2 tons (4,000 lbs) of disposal included — no need to add it up yourself.

There are no fuel surcharges, environmental fees, or administrative charges hiding anywhere. Every job gets delivery, pickup, and a certified weigh ticket.

+
How does the weight limit work? What happens if I go over?

There’s no weight limit to worry about — disposal is simply billed at $0.05/lb off the certified scale weight, with an 800 lb ($40) minimum. Heavier load, higher bill; lighter load, lower bill.

If you book the $400 package, the first 2 tons (4,000 lbs) are included; anything beyond that is billed at the same $0.05/lb rate — no separate overage tier.

Example: your load weighs 3,200 lbs. At $0.05/lb, that’s $160 in disposal.

We’ll send you the scale receipt so you can see exactly what was measured.

+
Do I need a separate booking for concrete, dirt, rock, or shingles?

No — one rate covers everything now. Concrete, dirt, rock, shingles, and general construction debris are all billed at the same $0.05/lb disposal rate. There’s no more separate “inert load” booking or price.

Heavy materials still add up in weight fast, even in a small volume. If you’re doing a big concrete or shingle tear-off, call us and we’ll help you estimate the disposal cost before you book.

+
What are the extension rates if I need the dumpster longer than the included days?

Extra rental days are $20/day, flat — the same rate for every container size, starting after the first 3 days included in your $200 delivery (or after the 7 days included in the $400 package).

Know upfront that your project will run long? Tell us when you book — no penalty for planning ahead. For rentals stretching well beyond 2–3 weeks, give us a call.

+
Do you offer discounts for contractors or repeat customers?

Contractor rates are available. Call 480-937-9137 and ask for Mike to set up an account.

+
Is there a fee for same-day delivery?

Same-day delivery depends on truck and container availability — call or text as early as possible and we’ll confirm within the hour. No published fee; we’ll tell you straight whether we can make it happen today.

🚛 Delivery & Pickup 6 questions
+
Do I need to be home when the dumpster is delivered or picked up?

No — you don't need to be present. You just need to specify the exact placement location when you book, and ensure the spot is unobstructed and accessible.

We'll send a confirmation text when we're on our way and again when the job is complete. If we arrive and can't safely access the container, a $75 dry run fee applies and we'll reschedule.

+
How much clearance does the truck need for delivery?

Our hook-lift truck requires:

  • Height clearance: Minimum 22 feet (watch for low-hanging trees, power lines, garage door frames)
  • Width clearance: Minimum 10 feet at the placement location
  • Access route: Clear path to the drop point — we can't drive over soft landscaping or through narrow gates
If you're unsure about clearance, send us a photo or video of the access route before booking. We'd rather confirm in advance than find out on-site.
+
Will the dumpster damage my driveway?

Possibly — and we want to be straight with you about this. A loaded dumpster is heavy, and asphalt driveways in Phoenix are softened by heat. The container feet can leave marks or indentations, particularly in summer.

To protect your driveway: place 2–3 sheets of ¾" plywood under the container feet before delivery, and schedule delivery for early morning when temps are lower.

Easy Dumps is not liable for driveway damage resulting from customer-directed placement.

+
Can I place the dumpster on the street?

In most Phoenix-area cities, placing a dumpster on a public street requires a permit from the municipality. Obtaining that permit is the customer's responsibility.

Rules vary by city — Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert all have different requirements. Check with your city's public works or permitting office before booking a street placement.

Placing a dumpster on a public street without a permit can result in fines from the city. Easy Dumps is not responsible for permit violations at the customer's direction.
+
Can I move the dumpster after it's been placed?

Don’t move the container yourself — these tubs weigh several hundred pounds empty and can cause injury or property damage. If you need it repositioned at the same address, call us and we’ll arrange it.

If you need it moved to a completely different address, that’s a pickup and redeliver — contact us to set it up.

+
How far do you deliver?

Our standard service area covers the Greater Phoenix Metro within approximately 20 miles of central Scottsdale — including Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, and most of the East and West Valley.

Outside that range? Call us and we’ll quote delivery for your specific address.

📦 Loading & Use 5 questions
+
How full can I fill the dumpster?

The container must not be loaded above the top rail — the flat edge at the top of the tub. Overfilled dumpsters cannot be legally transported on public roads.

If your container is stacked above the top rail when we arrive for pickup, we won't be able to take it until you remove the excess material. A $75 dry run fee applies.

Load heavy items on the bottom and spread weight evenly. Don't stack anything higher than the top rail, even if it seems stable — material can shift during transport.
+
Can I put furniture, appliances, and mattresses in the dumpster?

Yes — furniture, mattresses, and most household items are fine in a standard-load dumpster. Exceptions:

  • Appliances with Freon (refrigerators, AC units, freezers) must be professionally evacuated and certified before disposal
  • TVs and monitors are e-waste and cannot be disposed of in a roll-off container in Arizona
  • Propane tanks and gas cylinders — even empty ones — are not permitted

Sofas, bed frames, dressers, washers/dryers, microwaves — generally fine.

+
Can I burn debris in the dumpster?

Absolutely not. Burning materials in the container is prohibited by law and will result in immediate termination of your rental, forfeiture of your deposit, and liability for any damage to the container.

If we arrive and find evidence of burning, you'll be charged for the full replacement cost of the container.

+
Can multiple people / a contractor and homeowner use the same container?

Yes — as long as the rental agreement is in one name and that person takes responsibility for what goes in it. We don't restrict who loads the container, only what goes in it.

For shared job sites, make sure everyone knows the prohibited items list. You're responsible for the contents of your container regardless of who loaded it.

+
Am I responsible for the container while it's on my property?

Yes. From delivery to pickup, you're responsible for the container. This includes preventing unauthorized dumping, ensuring it's not damaged, and keeping it accessible for pickup.

The container remains the property of Easy Dumps at all times. You're not liable for normal wear — only for damage beyond that (fire, misuse, damage from prohibited materials).

If you're concerned about unauthorized dumping from neighbors or passersby, a simple lock or cover can deter it. Ask us about options when you book.
🚫 Prohibited Items 4 questions
+
What's the complete list of items I cannot put in the dumpster?

The following are strictly prohibited in all Easy Dumps containers:

  • Hazardous waste: paint, solvents, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, flammables
  • Asbestos, lead paint, or other regulated building materials
  • Tires (any quantity)
  • Automotive or sealed lead-acid batteries
  • Propane tanks, fuel containers, compressed gas cylinders (even empty)
  • Electronics and e-waste: TVs, computers, monitors, printers
  • Appliances containing Freon or refrigerants (unless certified evacuated)
  • Medical or biohazardous waste
  • Liquid waste of any kind

Concrete, dirt, rock, and gravel are fine in any container now — they’re billed at the standard $0.05/lb disposal rate like everything else.

Discovery of other prohibited materials resulting in additional disposal charges will be billed at cost plus a $100 administrative fee. When in doubt, call us before you load.

+
What should I do with paint, chemicals, and hazardous materials?

Maricopa County operates Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) drop-off events and facilities where you can dispose of paint, chemicals, solvents, and pesticides for free.

Visit maricopa.gov and search "household hazardous waste" for current drop-off locations and schedules.

Latex paint that is fully dried out is generally acceptable in regular waste — leave the lid off and let it dry completely before disposal.

+
Can I put roofing shingles in a standard dumpster?

Yes — shingles go in any container now, billed at the same $0.05/lb disposal rate as everything else. There’s no more separate Inert booking.

Shingles are still heavy — a typical roofing tear-off can run 3–5 tons, so it adds up fast on the scale. If you’re doing a big tear-off, call us and we’ll help you estimate the disposal cost before you book.

+
What happens if prohibited items are found after pickup?

If prohibited materials are identified at the disposal facility, we'll notify you immediately. You'll be billed for:

  • Any additional charges from the disposal facility (at actual cost)
  • A $100 administrative fee
  • Any remediation costs required by the facility

We reserve the right to inspect container contents prior to pickup. If we observe prohibited items, we'll contact you before pulling the load and give you the opportunity to remove them.

💳 Billing & Payment 4 questions
+
When do I pay? What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment in full is required at the time of booking. We accept:

  • All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover)
  • ACH bank transfer

We do not accept cash. Payment is processed securely before your delivery is confirmed.

Contractor accounts with established credit terms are available. Contact us to set up net terms — typically available after your first 3–5 bookings.
+
When is my final disposal charge billed?

Your disposal charge is calculated from the certified scale weight after pickup, and any extra rental days are added at $20/day. Both are billed to the payment method on file within 5 business days, with an itemized receipt showing the scale weight and any additional days.

We’ll never charge your card without sending documentation first.

+
What is your cancellation policy?

Give us at least 24 hours notice and you’re covered — full refund, no questions asked. Canceling closer to your delivery time, or after the truck has been dispatched, isn’t guaranteed a refund, so call us as soon as you know your plans have changed and we’ll do what we can.

Rescheduling (not canceling) is always free with at least 24 hours notice, subject to availability.

+
Is there AZ sales tax on dumpster rentals?

Yes — dumpster rental is subject to Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) under the Personal Property Rental classification. Tax will be applied at the combined state, county, and city rate for your service address.

Rates typically run 8–9% combined in the Phoenix metro. The tax amount will be shown on your receipt.
